Another photo of my Marie Antoinette costume. Eventually I'll buy a wig so I won't have to use my own hair ;)

This is NOT meant to be historically accurate, but it is accurate to the stage costume worn by Mari Hanafusa in Takarazuka's 2001 production of "Rose of Versailles". A year's work of hand embroidering, beading, rhinestoning, etc... went into this costume. It is truly a labor of love.

While I come from the historic costuming school, I have to give you major applause for all the hand work. I think your hair looks lovely. The French had their share of brunettes too, but they usually powdered their hair. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of the aristocracy (regardless of their hair color) wore powdered wigs or powdered their hair. Still, everything looks lovely.
